Dark Bronze Standing Seam Metal Roof Upgrade in Parrish, FL

Project Snapshot

  • Neighborhood/City: Foxbrook, Parrish, FL
  • Property Type: Single-family acreage home
  • Roof System/Materials Used: Kynar 500 standing-seam metal roofing in Dark Bronze, bronze drip edge, high-performance synthetic underlayment, repaired/replaced roof decking
  • Season of Completion: Late Summer 2025

The Challenge

This Foxbrook home sits in one of Parrish’s distinctive acreage communities, where custom homes are spread across large one-to-five-acre lots surrounded by mature landscaping, open space, lakes, and nature views. Foxbrook was established in the early 2000s, and many homes in the neighborhood are now reaching the age when original roofing assemblies require serious attention.

The existing roof had reached that point. Once Steadfast Roofing began the tear-off, the condition beneath the surface became clearer. Project photos show deteriorated and moisture-affected decking in several areas, including sections near roof transitions and edges. Those concealed weak points are particularly important in Parrish, where prolonged heat, humidity, wind-driven rain, and repeated summer storms can gradually compromise older roof assemblies.

Timing also mattered. September in Parrish remains firmly within Florida’s wet season, with historical averages around 88°F and more than eight inches of monthly rainfall. A roof with weakened decking or vulnerable transitions can quickly become a much larger problem when afternoon thunderstorms repeatedly test the system.

Scope of Work

Steadfast Roofing removed the existing roofing materials down to the deck so the underlying structure could be inspected directly rather than simply covered over.

The tear-off revealed localized areas of compromised wood. Those sections were removed and replaced with sound decking, restoring a solid substrate before the new roofing system was installed. The project documentation shows extensive deck inspection, measured repair areas, and careful attention around valleys, hips, eaves, and other transitions.

A high-performance synthetic underlayment was then installed across the prepared deck to create a secondary water-resistant barrier.

The finished system used Kynar 500 metal roofing in Dark Bronze, paired with bronze drip edge. The metal panels were carefully laid out across the home’s multiple hips and intersecting roof planes. Custom ridge and hip detailing created clean, continuous lines while concealed fastening and properly formed transitions helped reduce exposed points where water can enter.

The result is especially striking because the home has a broad, complex roofline that makes panel alignment and finish work highly visible from both ground level and above.

The Result

The completed Dark Bronze metal roof completely changes the character of the property. Instead of an aging conventional roof surface, the home now has crisp architectural lines that emphasize its wide footprint and estate-style design.

From the aerial photographs, the uniform metal panels flow cleanly across each hip and roof section, giving the house a polished, cohesive appearance. The deep bronze finish complements the light exterior walls, landscaping, and rural surroundings without looking overly industrial.

That combination fits Foxbrook especially well. The community is known for custom homes, larger lots, mature landscaping, and a more spacious countryside feel than many newer Parrish developments.

Why This Project Matters

Foxbrook homeowners enjoy more space and privacy, but Florida weather does not give acreage homes an easier roofing environment. Intense UV exposure, high summer temperatures, heavy rainfall, tropical systems, and wind-driven storms continually stress roofing materials.

A properly installed metal system provides a strong long-term approach for this environment while also matching the higher-end custom-home character common throughout Foxbrook.

This project also demonstrates why a roof replacement should involve more than installing a new visible surface. By exposing the deck, correcting damaged wood, installing a dependable secondary barrier, and carefully finishing every roof transition, Steadfast Roofing rebuilt the system from the structure outward.
